TOUCH THE WILD HEART OF PHONG NHA
The 20Km distance is the ideal choice for those familiar with running but with less trail experience, or simply for those who want to combine discovery, hiking, and a deep nature experience within the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park.
This distance is challenging enough to allow runners to fully appreciate the wild, the majestic beauty of the heritage zone, where vast primary forests thrive, birdsong blends with the sound of the wind, and the breath of the sky and the land spreads in every step.
The journey starts at the Phong Nha town stadium, taking runners across the Twin Mountains to reach the Ranger Station No. 6. The runner will then follow the paved road connecting to the Ho Chi Minh road and enter the Botanical Garden – a miniature version of the National Park, showcasing the full splendor of a pristine forest. From here, Thac Gio (Wind Waterfall) appears like a beautiful brushstroke against the deep green jungle canvas. Next, runners will join the 50Km and 70Km routes to head towards Rao Con Village.
Rao Con Village is a small community nestled in nature, where the life of the Van Kieu people remains simple and gentle, as it has been for generations. The rustic stilt houses, the sound of children playing by the stream, and the evening cooking smoke rising against the green forest create a tranquil and authentic snapshot of life deep within the heritage area.
Next comes a playful water crossing as you wade through the cool, clear sections of the Rao Ma Stream. Here, runners can cast away all your worries and admire Phong Nha’s picturesque scenery, where humanity and nature blend into a symphony of peace and freedom.
